READING

C. C. Aggarwal. Data Mining: The Textbook. Springer International Publishing, 2015.

The second data mining course at RWTH Aachen University - "Data Mining Algorithms II" held by Prof. Seidl - is split into three parts:

  1. High-dimensional data;
  2. stream data
  3. and graph data.

Unfortunately, no textbook (to the best of my knowledge) does provide detailed discussion of all covered concepts and algorithms across all parts. Nevertheless, beneath basic concepts and algorithms of data mining,t he textbook by Aggarwal discusses a lot of advanced algorithms. For example, CLIQUE and PROCLUS, two common high-dimensional clustering algorithms are discussed in detail; or the Stream or CluStream algorithms for stream clustering.
